A comparison between high-frequency heat sealing machines and hot air welding machines when heat-sealing tent fabric

When heat-sealing tent tarpaulins, there are significant differences between high-frequency heat sealers and hot air welding machines in terms of heating principle, welding efficiency, applicable materials, equipment cost, operating difficulty, welding quality, etc., as follows:

1. Heating principle
High-frequency heat sealer: Use high-frequency electromagnetic field to make polar molecules inside the material generate polarized friction heat, heat from the inside of the material, and achieve molecular-level welding.
Hot air welding machine: Heat the edge of the tarpaulin through a hot air gun or hot air generator, so that the coating material is melted and then pressurized and combined, which belongs to the external heating method.
2. Welding efficiency
High-frequency heat sealer: The welding speed can reach 15-20 meters/minute, which is suitable for large-scale production and has high efficiency.
Hot air welding machine: The welding speed is relatively slow, suitable for small-scale or fine welding, and has low efficiency.
3. Applicable materials
High-frequency heat sealer: It has the best effect on plastic tarpaulins containing polar molecules such as PVC, and is not suitable for non-polar materials (such as pure PP, PE).
Hot air welding machine: suitable for a variety of plastic tarpaulins, including PVC, TPU, PE, etc., but there are certain requirements for material thickness and melting point.
4. Equipment cost
High frequency heat sealing machine: The equipment price is relatively high, suitable for enterprises with long-term and large-scale production.
Hot air welding machine: The equipment cost is relatively low, suitable for small-scale production or enterprises with limited budget.
5. Operation difficulty
High frequency heat sealing machine: The operation is relatively complicated, requiring professional training, and requires precise parameters such as electrode plate spacing, pressure, and welding time.
Hot air welding machine: Simple operation, easy to use, suitable for non-professional operation.
6. Welding quality
High frequency heat sealing machine: The weld strength is high (close to the parent material) and the sealing is good. It is suitable for tarpaulins with high strength and high sealing requirements.
Hot air welding machine: The weld strength is slightly lower and the sealing is good, but there may be problems of local overheating or uneven welding.
